Bio
A bio widget is a compact identity card showing photo, name, tagline, and optional role and location. WidgetCraft's Bio widget is a single-paste embed for personal sites, link-in-bio pages, Notion profiles, and team directories — designed to hand off who you are in one glance.
Bio is one of WidgetCraft's identity primitives — a hero block for any link-tree, portfolio, or showcase page. Photo on top (defaults to a monogram of the first letter of your name), display name in the brand display font, italic tagline beneath, and an optional role pill plus location line. Embed it in Notion above your task list to give the page a face, drop it into a portfolio site as the about section, or use it on a link-in-bio page as the header. The widget renders entirely client-side from URL params, so there's no profile lookup, no API key, no rate limit — just a configurable identity card.

How do I set my photo?
Pass a photo URL via the inspector's Photo URL field, or add `?photo=<url>` to the embed link. Without a photo, the widget renders a monogram fallback using the first letter of your name on a soft-tinted circle.
What goes in the role pill?
The role field renders below the tagline as a small accent pill. Use it for one-word job titles like 'designer', 'founder', 'student', or short descriptors. Keep it under ~12 characters so it doesn't wrap.
Can I use this for team pages?
Yes — drop one bio widget per team member and configure each with a different photo + name + role. The compact footprint (300×240 by default) tiles well in a 2- or 3-column grid.
Is the photo cached?
The widget renders the photo URL via a standard <img> tag, so caching is your browser's responsibility. For best performance use an image URL from a CDN that sets long Cache-Control headers (Cloudinary, ImgIX, or any S3-fronted CDN works fine).
Does the bio widget link anywhere?
Not by default — Bio is content-only. To make it clickable, pair it with a CTA Button widget below or wrap it in a link in your host page (Notion, Obsidian, your site).
Is this widget free?
Yes. Like every WidgetCraft widget, Bio is free to embed and customize. No account required, no per-render fees.
